Birthday Party Puppet Shows for Ages 1-6:
Suitable for children aged 1-6 (with plenty of humour for the parents to enjoy too) this puppet show is performed by one puppeteer (Brett Hansen) unless a specific request is made to include an additional puppeteer (Elissa Jenkins). The puppets perform 30 minutes of age appropriate songs, games, jokes, skits and comical interaction with the audience – performed in the puppetry style of Sesame Street and The Muppets.
The show is performed from behind a puppet stage, which is about 2.5 metres wide, and Brett uses about 1.5 metres behind it to lay out the puppets, props, audio equipment, and himself for performing. Access to power is required if both performers are in the show because a larger P.A. system is used to accomodate the two microphones. If it’s just Brett performing he has a small battery powered amp that doesn’t require access to power.
The show is followed by a 5 minute presentation where the puppeteer comes out and explains how all the puppets work. Then a 5-10 minute meet-and-greet with Troggg the blue monster – the star of the show. People can get photos and selfies with him during this time.
You and all the party guests are welcome to take as many photos of the puppets as you like, and share them on Facebook, Instagram, etc. if you wish to.
Also – just a bit of adult supervision (or crowd control) on the day during the puppet show is always helpful. The adults usually all watch and laugh along with the show as well.
The puppet show, the “how the puppets work” demonstration, and the meet-and-greet and photo session all lasts up to 45 minutes in total.

Access to power: Ideal but not required. A small battery powered amp with one microphone input can be used for the 1 puppeteer show if it’s performed in a council park with no access to power.
Venues: This show can be performed in back yards, front yards, garages, lounge rooms, council parks, restaurants, halls, clubs, pubs and play centres.

Birthday party shows for ages 6 and under are performed by Brett on his own. There are different prices based on regions. The lowest rate is for those in the Moreton Bay Region (where we are based). Another rate for Brisbane, Sunshine Coast Region, Shire of Noosa, and another rate again for City of Gold Coast, Logan City, Ipswich City, Somerset Region.

On special request, Elissa is able to join Brett with her female characters usually seen at schools, childcare centres, festivals, libraries and on TV. Elissa performs with Brett at shows where the birthday child is turning 7 or older.

An initial 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking. This ensures that the chosen booking time is yours, and we’ll refuse other people requesting the same date and time. And then the remaining balance can be paid in cash on the day of the event, or via direct deposit afterwards.

Please note: Most council parks are not powered sites, so if you choose to have Elissa join Brett for a birthday party show for ages 1-6, we are unable to perform in the park. In most cases, park shows can be performed by Brett on his own via his portable, battery powered speaker.

Birthday Party Puppet Shows for Ages 7 and up:
Suitable for the older kids (Grade 2 upwards), this is a puppet show that requires two performers to make it just that extra bit cooler and more interactive and engaging. The puppet show is 30 minutes of songs, games, jokes, skits and comical interaction with the audience – performed in the puppetry style of Sesame Street and The Muppets. There are more props and witty skits in this show than there are in the birthday party show for babies and toddlers. Depending on the age group, we may even include a workshop segment where members of the audience get to learn how to operate a puppet. We find that older kids have more fun when they’re able to get involved and have a go rather than just watching the puppet show.
The show is followed by a 5 minute presentation after the show where Brett and Elissa explain how all the puppets work, and they choose volunteers from the audience to co-perform a couple of characters, much to the enjoyment of everybody in the audience. Then we do a 5-10 minute meet-and-greet with stars of the show Troggg the blue monster and friends. Kids (and parents too!) often like to get photos and selfies with the puppets during this time. The puppet show, the “how the puppets work” demonstration, and the meet-and-greet and photo session all lasts up to 45 minutes in total.

Access to power: Required. For this show we use a powered P.A. system which has two microphone inputs for the two performers. We have a 20 metre power cable which can stretch from the yard into the garage, shed or house.
Venues: This show can be performed in back yards, front yards, garages, lounge rooms, restaurants, halls, clubs, pubs and play centres, as long as there is access to power. Please note: Most council parks are not powered sites, so we are unable to perform our ages 7+ birthday party show in parks.
