Option 1: 1 Module (1 x 45 minute class):
Zietta Elissa runs a practical, highly interactive class where children have the opportunity to play with a selection of 25 hand puppets, folk puppets and finger puppets. Together we learn how to make puppets talk, move, sing, dance and tell stories.
Option 2: 4 Modules (4 x 45 minute classes/visits):
Module 1: Zietta Elissa runs a practical, highly interactive class where children have the opportunity to play with a selection of 25 hand puppets, folk puppets and finger puppets. Together we learn how to make puppets talk, move, sing, dance and tell stories.
Module 2: Zietta Elissa, along with her puppet friend Flossy, facilitates a group conversation about family, friends, community, and place. Together, using puppets and improvised storytelling, we imagine new worlds, meet different friends and experience wonderful adventures. Together we film some puppet videos.
Module 3: Zietta Elissa facilitates a group conversation about different countries, cultures and languages. We talk about Queensland, Australia and the world. We look at a map of the world and learn to say “Hello” and count in different languages. We count to 10 in Italian.
Module 4: Zietta Elissa runs a practical, highly interactive class where children have the opportunity to play with shadow puppets and perform behind a shadow puppet theatre. We focus on being kind to and caring for animals, nature and the environment. Children learn about how we live in a “multi-species” community alongside pets, farm animals, wildlife and plants. A darkened room is required for this activity.
